It's almost Christmas once again, but that's not what I'm attempting to save money for at this time. My savings goals are much bigger. In putting this post together I ran across one from 2011 that seems to fit with I am aiming for so I included it. The different colors are the notes and updates that are current, and today's post.
December 29, 2011.......
The light bill is in, the budget amount that I have to pay is $245. We are a total of $159.53 under budget so far and at the rate things are going we will be even farther under budget by the time the settle up bill comes due. That is a good thing, but the way that we will be under budget is not a convenient one however. My heat has stopped working which means there will be no air conditioning this summer. GRRRRRRRRR. *We are no longer on budget billing or even leveled billing, and there are only two of us versus three and animals to keep warm and cool. We are also in a smaller space than we were at the time, but a larger space than we have been in during the last several years.
I am planning to purchase space heaters very soon, the problem is finding the correct sizes within my budget as I would like to be comfortable. I do not require that the house be so hot it runs you outside to cool off but the chill in the air is starting to make me sick. I also saw a "Weather proofing for Dummies" kit that I would like to have. While there are repairs that have to be done I want a house built eventually so I am figuring out what absolutely has to be fixed and then the integrity of the structure will be looked at to see the costs of detailed repairs and renovations against that of a new house. *We were freezing even with the space heaters because the space was huge. You had to sit right up under them, or move them into a smaller room not to freeze. I have no idea where those heaters are now. I do remember the space heater in the camper and the fact that it got warm enough in it because the space was extremely small.
While it is still cold out once the heaters are taken care of there will be a need to search for alternative cooling to ensure that no one has a heat stroke during the 100 degree plus summers here. I have very few months left of the half day preschool year to get as much work done as possible to take a day or two off each week during the summer to fully participate in therapy so I'll be getting back to it. *We have functional air conditioning for warmer months that we are not responsible for the upkeep which is a good thing at this time.
2018 Conditions and Goals
January my car insurance is due. March my tag is due. And it is time to figure out retirement plans because I don't want to work forever.
