The new year is well under way and I had an interesting vacation. Theresa turned 11 years old.....she's in denial so don't tell her. I found that as she opened Christmas and Birthday most was met with delayed enthusiasm, but one that met with the most delay was her retro Nintendo with 620 built in games....
That is until she watched me play the game. Seems she decided she likes Mario, and thought she'd try for herself! She did so with no instruction on how to play, after all it is self explanatory even for me who had not played in well over a decade or more.
We went out in the cold weather to visit with family and friends, eat and just enjoy each other's company. We also indulged in drives through the country, something which I have not been able to do in years either because of panic or lack of a vehicle of my own. The drives were refreshing and made us feel good.
I discovered something, I have to save cash for some upcoming purchases because I tend to get sidetracked and spend to much when the purchase is done electronically. It is to easy to swipe a card, the biggest problem is that you can't actually see how much money is leaving you.
What did you realize over the holiday?
