We recently had a three day weekend so I went through my kindle app to see what I could read while my child was on my computer. I found a book about groceries.
The $50 Grocery Challenge: Eating Healthy Without Being Wealthy by Marianne Giullian caught my attention. It was an interesting read, and had a few things in it that I found I might need to pay more attention to. |

There was a point to the book that spending $50 a week, each week instead of $100 every two weeks or $200 a month was easier on her. It makes sense if you think about it. Each week the amount available to spend was set (for four people) and not gone over.
Simple things such as meal planning, figuring out the sales, and searching clearance items were all implemented. It was about paying attention to what you're doing instead of using drastic measures to save money. The author did it without using coupons because the area she lived in did not offer many choices and she'd had some bad experiences.
All in all it's not terrible, but it's not the best either. You can use your judgement to decide if you want to read it or not. It's actually common sense, but it is nice to see it in writing. The foods are not processed, or prepackaged.
